0890837805 As with Kamm s other Zebra Gothics with a modern day setting I thought this was just okay Our heroine Lark is a top fashion model who s unexpectedly inherited her step uncle s estate in Florida which comes complete with a ghost story After a whole chapter of hemming and hawing Lark decides to travel to her new property from London to spend a few months When she arrives she learns someone has just been murdered Then it becomes clear several chapters later that someone is trying to scare her away By this point I was struggling to pay attention and it s a wonder I finished this 400 page tome at all Kamm is just too wordy and descriptive in her later books for my taste I don t need multiple pages of Lark describing the property Kamm also deals in very slow moving suspense and dull love interests None of these things would necessarily be deal breakers on their own but having them combined is too much for me The pluses There s a cute dog named Dog and cabinets full of old preserved lizards One character says her room at the estate is past the mouldering Gila monster A great new insult I have in my back pocket for the next person that gets on my nerves 0890837805 Book by Dorinda Kamm Kingsroad Legacy.
