Realistic and kept you turning the pages The story is about a married man who has a gambling addiction and in my opinion an alcohol and sex addiction too This man John is married to Connie who is beautiful and extremely faithful John gets himself in debt gambling and plays pro golf hoping to get himself out of debt But the man he is indebted too has other plans for John s winnings I don t want to say much and give spoilers But there are plenty of twists and turns to the story Lots of rich charismatic people in this story Definitely worth picking up Paperback I received my copy of this book for free through Goodreads First Reads giveaway program This is one of those books that you start reading and think to yourself hey I know exactly how things will play out and then BAM things go in a completely different direction that you couldn t have guessed See John Play turned out to be a surprisingly engrossing read In fact I had a really hard time putting it down once I got started. See john play speculative fiction 2023 I won this book on Goodreads and I am very pleased to have been introduced to this author This book has a strong plot with many twists and rich characters I was unable to put this book down Early on I found myself invested in the characters and rooting for Connie all the way Her strength and fortitude throughout the book are inspirational in the face of much negativity and danger she manages to both keep her faith and her man intact Excellent read Mr DiGrazie For those who enjoy mysteries romances and or spiritual novels look no further than See John Play I highly recommend this book it has much to offer Paperback This book was a very quick read I found myself so engrossed with the characters before the first chapter was over I ll admit I hated the main character John from the get go and I kept waiting for someone to kill him or his wife to leave to him But even though I disliked him as much as I did I could not stop reading to see what happened next All the characters were well written and believable The story line was good unfaithful John who s dreamt to make it big playing golf Throw in a mistress some gangsters money and you get a heck of a read Let s start with all the things that worked 1 First half I personally felt that the first half was much stronger than the second Not the say the second half wasn t great There couldn t have been a better introduction to the lives and backgrounds of these characters The flashbacks of the couple gave us real insight into how they ve changed over the years of their marriage together 2 Characters The characters are definitely the backbone of this novel Starting with John I found him to be such a complex unpredictable man hating and loving him And then we have Connie. Book see john playwright oh dear dear Connie I really liked her as a devoted mother wife and overall a loyal person But goodness her choices got me so frustrated at times I don t want to give anything away 3 Golf scenes All the parts including the tournaments were written extremely well One con I can point out is that I wasn t too familiar with the golf terms of a hockey fan so it took me some time to grasp that I just wanted to read faster and faster to figure out what the outcome was Overall all the parts including action even in the climax were brilliant Overall I really enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone looking for a thrilling style read Paperback I had never heard of this author before he approached me offering a copy of See John Play in return for an honest and unbiased review In retrospect I really should have declined this generous offer as I doubt very much that I would ever have selected this title myself if browsing in a bookshop library or on line However something must have caught my attention and interest when I read the blurb of this novel as I accepted I found it to be a fairly average unremarkable read but if I was a golfer I feel I may have enjoyed it much as it is full of golfing terms and scenarios Just because this was not for me does not mean you will not enjoy this original formula just bear in mind if you are not interested in golf that this may not appeal to you either The novel s story is very much a character based one and I did not like any of them but felt that this was probably the author s intention This is the story of a marriage in chaos and the trials the couple face because of the situations they find themselves in The story is mainly told from the perspective of the wife Connie rather than her husband John of the title John Kaminski is a professional golfer a compulsive gambler and a womaniser.
