Not great pattern book for those of us who enjoy working with the lovely varieties of sock yarns now available English I love finding great patterns to use with sock yarn I am not a big fan of sock knitting but I love fingering weight yarn so I grabbed this as soon as it hit I am so glad I did I am on my third pattern from this book and have not stopped since English The German lace cowl Though the written instructions say skp which is different than the chart Hmmm. Simply sock yarn company Entrelac arm warmers look great maybe will try someday English

Lovely projects in small to larger scale patterns Some use only 1 ball some use many There are even patterns for use of scrap sock yarns English Lovely book with beautiful projects I wish I was a better knitter but I loved looking at this book anyway There are good explanations of different techniques and concepts The patterns are well written with charts and pictures English Well produced clearly arranged book with tons of good info re types of sock yarn and various uses and or substitutions Enjoyed that beginning part very much Patterns weren t very interesting to me though interesting color choices in a couple pf designs but over all mainlu basic sorts of things albeit using mainly small amounts of various colored yarns that provided a bit of punch BOTTOM LINE good mittens and scarves to multi skein wraps sweaters and created with fingering or sport weight sock yarns And there s plenty of helpful advice for selecting yarns and knitting smart with tricky hand paints and self patterning yarns Sock Yarn Studio Hats Garments and Other Projects Designed for Sock YarnGreat book that clearly explains all the types of sock yarn and the many projects that you can make from it besides socks I will remember this book the next time I am trying to whittle my sock yarn stash down a bit English I usually go straight to Ravelry for my patterns so it was fun to look at a book for a change I have a zillion skeins of sock yarn that I don t know what to do with but buy every year because my friend hand dyes them and this book was a helpful idea percolator English Excellent variety of projects with clear instructions wonderful step by step pictures I will definitely be referring to this book for future knitting items Also knitting is categorized by one skein two skein three plus skeins English due at the library English
